Gorey travelled to Longford on Sunday past for a must win game. The long journey took it out on the players as they did not turn up in the 1st half, leaving a lot of work in the second half, just to make the score line respectable.
With a few injuries to key players Gorey started confident that they could beat Longford. Gorey had the wind behind there back in the 1st half but it was all one way traffic as Longford controlled the ball well. Gorey would have to be thankful that the Longford player/coach was off his kicking game as he missed three early penalties before Longford scored their first try. From the next kick off Gorey were caught napping as poor defence let a Longford player run throught the line to set up the second try of the match.
Gorey were showing no urgency and were caught short of numbers throughout the entire 1st half.

Honesty and urgency were words used at halftime as the Gorey players tried to gather there composure.
Gorey picked up there game in the second half and were unlucky not to get a losing bonus point as they managed to score two trys by Adrian Copeland and Matt Bater. Not it was way to late as Longford won 27 -17.
